How soon after surgery am I ready to be fit for a prosthesis?
In most cases, a patient can be fit immediately after surgery.  They would be fit with an immediate post-operative prosthesis.  This is used for a short time until your limb has healed enough to start gait training with an initial prosthesis.

Initially, it is not uncommon for your device to need adjustments.  After this adjustment period, you will need to be seen every six months.  This is for our staff to evaluate your device and ensure that it is working properly.

What is the advantage of choosing an ABC Certified Prosthetist or Orthotist?

American Board Certified (ABC) Prosthetists and Orthotists are individuals who have completed specific university training relevant to the prosthetic and orthotic field.  Our practitioners have also undergone a residency program before taking their certification exams.  As a patient, it is important to verify that your prosthetist or orthotist is American Board Certified.  This will ensure the highest level of patient care.
